Advocacy Committee
The advocacy committee helps the council listen to neighbors and speak up on their behalf—whether it’s about city policies, public safety, land use, transit, tree preservation, or anything else shaping life in Maple Leaf. This group works to understand what matters most to the people who live here and to build relationships with city departments, agencies, and other partners to help move things forward.
Turn neighbor priorities into real conversations
When people in Maple Leaf care about something—whether it’s safer streets, more housing, or protecting what makes the neighborhood special—this committee helps bring that energy to the city in a focused, constructive way. You’ll help collect input, surface common concerns, and make sure neighbors' voices are part of the bigger picture.
Work on issues that matter to you
The advocacy committee doesn’t just follow a set agenda. If you care about something specific—like development, trees, sidewalks, or city response times—there’s room to dig in. With more volunteers, we can run multiple projects at once, so people can lead or contribute based on their passions and skills.
Help shape the future of Maple Leaf
This committee exists to make sure Maple Leaf isn’t just reacting to change—it’s helping guide it. Through listening sessions, writing responses, and building ongoing relationships with decision-makers, you’ll help make sure the neighborhood grows in a way that reflects the people who live here now and care about its future.
